Disgraced former Miami Dolphins player Richie Incognito has been admitted to a psychiatric facility following a string of bizarre outbursts, according to reports.

Incognito, who has been named as the ringleader of a bullying culture within the Miami Dolphins, was taken to the facility just hours after confessing to smashing up his own Ferrari with a baseball bat.

The athlete was admitted to the psychiatric care unit in Arizona late on Thursday night after the Scottsdale Police Department filled out a petition to have him admitted, TMZ Sports reported.

The site added that he did not go voluntarily but did not resist because he agreed recent drama in his life has taken its emotional toll. He reportedly remains at the unit and is waiting for an evaluation.

The police would not confirm the latest developments on Friday morning, but usually, the petition requires a description of at least two incidents showing instability, TMZ said.

Anyone else tiring of the Igconito-Martin soap opera?
The skeptic is never for real. There he stands, cocktail in hand, left arm draped languorously on one end of the mantelpiece, telling you that he can't be sure of anything, not even of his own existence. I'll give you my secret method of demolishing universal skepticism in four words. Whisper to him: "Your fly is open." If he thinks knowledge is so all-fired impossible, why does he always look? — James Sire (from, The Universe Next Door)
