If the Muslim market sells pork, yes, it has to sell to Christians.

If the photographer doesn't want to do gay weddings, just stop doing weddings.

I don't get how baking a cake equals condoning a lifestyle.

If a Christian pharmacist sells condoms to a man, should he ask the man if he's using the condoms to have sex with another man before selling them?

Can a devout Catholic work as a pharmacist at CVS/Walgreens and routinely fill prescriptions for contraceptives?

Should a devout Christian who owns a hotel demand that all guests show him proof of marriage before renting a room?

We seem to get very selective about where exactly it is that we decide to stand on principles.

Most of the time, it's when we want others not to do something that we don't think they should do.

The most basic definition of the left and right political argument these days seems to be that the left wants others to do something they don't want to do, while the right spends its time trying to stop people from doing something they want to do.

Here in AZ that isn't what is bringing her down. She has been about as popular as day old bread here for quite some time... she only won re-election because she signed the immigration bill. She has been better than Napolitano was - but only by a very thin margin.  She is almost out of office anyway so this isn't going to bother her one way or the other.

That's just a ridiculous statement.  I'm sorry, but it's hard to take you seriously at this point when you post such things.

In what ways has Brewer "barely" been better than Queen Janet?  Don't be a part of the problem ... help solve it.

Personally I think it was stupid for the bakery owner to refuse to bake a cake for a gay wedding. I don't believe in gay weddings and I am a Christian and I feel it is condoning a lifestyle that goes against creation sodomy is not normal no matter what the gays say. I do believe in commerce though and if you own a business you should be willing to deal with everyone as long as they are being civil and not unruly. My first job was at a large carpet business called New York carpet world owned by a Mr Berlin and was at the time the largest carpet business in the United states. I sold plenty of carpeting to gays while most of my co workers hid back in the lunch room or office the majority were male because few woman wanted to tackle all the math it entails to be able to sell you need to be very quick at math too plus we had to go out and measure the rooms then make a diagram and be very accurate or you either cost the business or customer. I really don't believe I was not a good Christian for having a business relation with them and when I became an insurance agent later I sold policies to them. I had a product and they wanted to purchase it and had the money to do so that to me is all you need what their bedroom antics were had no bearing on what we were doing.

The short version spread by the media was this was a "Protect the Bigoted Christians" law.  Whether that was the truth or not was irrelevant from that point forward.  Soundbites and hyperbole drowned out the actual vagueness of this law.

She blackmailed our GOP legislature into approving OCare in AZ.  How did she do it?  Vetoed every single bill they sent her to sign until they capitulated to her demands and sent her the bill to suit her whims.. she's term-limited and has nothing to lose by being a thorn in their sides to get what she wants... She did the same thing until she got the tax increase she wanted... even Nappy didn't pull this sort of thing with our GOP Senate/legislature.

BTW the photographer in NM didn't initially object to photographing the wedding.  It was what they asked him to do afterward he objected to... He was known for bring very artistic and they asked him to portray more than just the wedding in the wedding book he would make for them after the wedding..this was w here he said find someone else.  My husband was an artist, should he have been compelled to paint a mural or the portrait of a subject matter that made him uncomfortable?  Where do we draw a line?

So we're entering a Dark Age because 20-something boys can't get erections?  Are you friggin' serious?

I'd like to see a link to the evidence of this.  Viagra knocks you back for $25 a pill; I don't imagine that's in the budget of most 25 year olds.

“Viagra Addiction” and Sex Addicts’ Use of ED Drugs
By Linda Hatch, PhD

Have you heard of Viagraholics Anonymous?  Well it seems it exists. Tens of millions of people have used Viagra (a registered trademark of Pfizer) and other ED drugs. Young men in their 20’s and 30’s are reportedly becoming dependent on Viagra. Is there a connection to sex addiction?

Age and Viagra use

Quote
The data on age and ED drug use/abuse are still somewhat anecdotal, but one sex therapist in the UK said he sees about 15 men a month who feel dependent on Viagra and that the average age is about 32.  The same article quoted a clinical psychologist who reported an increase in the number of male patients dependent on Viagra with the youngest being 22.

According to an article in Webmd.com About 40% of the 40-year-old men in the U.S. have some degree of erectile dysfunction.  And according to Pfizer, most Viagra users are in their early to mid 50s.  And the same article maintains that Pfizer has been targeting younger men in its advertising; the so called “recreational” users of ED drugs (which Pfizer denies.)

A urologist from the “Impotence Institute of America” is quoted in the above article as saying

“These [younger] men are likely to use Viagra because sexual performance is a high priority for them.”  Hmmm.

But a psychologist who treats Viagra dependence is quoted as saying

“These younger men believe they are only satisfying a woman because they are using the drug.  The solution becomes the problem”

Porn and Erectile Dysfunction

“Porn-induced sexual dysfunction” has been talked about for at least a couple of years and a number of studies have documented a connection between heavy internet pornography use and erectile dysfunction in otherwise healthy young men.

A Psychology Today article reported that:

Quote
“Recent behavioral addiction research suggests that the loss of libido and performance occur because heavy users [of pornography] are numbing their brain’s normal response to pleasure. Years of overriding the natural limits of libido with intense stimulation desensitize the user’s response to a neurochemical called dopamine.”

So porn addiction may lead to erectile dysfunction and this in turn may lead to a dependence on ED drugs.

But there are other connections drawn between porn addiction and ED besides the neurochemical numbing argument.  Many clinicians believe young men have become so accustomed to the idealized images of women and sex that they are unable to be sexually aroused by real women in a real situation.

Another argument is that given that exposure to porn typically starts in the pre-teen years, young men may have accepted an unrealistic standard of male sexual performance and stamina.  Next to this standard they feel insecure and seek out a prop.

Sex addicts’ use of ED drugs: pros and cons

Whether you are a sex or porn addict or not, “recreational” use of Viagra apparently has the potential to become a drug dependency particularly for younger people.

But if you are sexually addicted then ED drugs feed directly into the addiction in these ways:

Quote
Addictive sex is about heightened sexual experiences and not about broader relationships so the emphasis is on the peak physical performance and orgasm

Addictive sex escalates to more sex and more orgasm, thus requiring sexual arousal beyond the limits normally achieved

The desensitization effects of sex and porn addiction mean that in “normal” sex with someone the addict may require ED drugs to “perform” at all.

On the other hand, ED drugs may serve a useful purpose for recovering sex addicts (assuming they are not already using them in their addiction.)  Recovering sex addicts are often insecure about their ability to re-enter the world of intimacy and sexual relating with another person.  ED drugs may help them get over their initial fears, and may only be needed for a brief time.

Additionally, recovering sex addicts often swing from out of control sexual behavior into a period of “sexual anorexia” in which they tend to avoid all sex.  Here again ED drugs may allow them an additional degree of freedom as they take their first tentative steps into sex in recovery.
