When does the Republican Party, put in the majority by the Tea Party, plan to honor its commitment to halt the growth of the Federal monolith and bring the budget back into balance"?

It was a badly crafted bill that even one major Christian publication said would do far more harm than good.

She knows better than to cut her state's throat.

Easiest decision she has made as governor.  Of course, she had to go against Rush Limbaugh to do so.  What's up with Rush lately?  He's losing his marbles.  First the weird rant against Michael Sam, and now supporting this vague AZ law.

Browsing other sites and 'conservative' media, Jan Brewer is now a RINO, apparently.  So, as a pure conservative according to these people, that leaves Ted Cruz (a lawyer) and Sarah Palin (who authorized the same federal "Gardisal" funds that Rick "Crony Capitalism" Perry did in Texas.

I'm so sick of these extremist social conservatives tearing apart the cohesion of the political right.  We have a President who is clearly a homosexual, or was in his past, yet now Jan Brewer needs to leave the GOP.  DO SOMETHING ABOUT OBAMA AND THE LIBERALS, and stop spending your money on fruitless snipe hunts against people you don't agree with 100%.

These extreme right-wingers are going to hand the Democrats more seats than they deserve this fall, and all for ideological pipe dreams.

Does it really matter whether Obama is a homosexual, heterosexual, or a neuter?  Compared to the destruction he's wrought on this country, his sexual proclivities are irrelevant i should think.

I don't care at all if he's a homosexual.  It matters not at all to me.  Jan Brewer now has a bigger target on her back from social conservatives than does Obama, though.  It's reactionary politics, which is usually something that the left excels in exhibiting.

Fair enough; perhaps I read too much into your post.  I completely agree that it's long past time that the right laid off the circular firing squad and started taking aim at the real enemy.

I found this on another site, but it explains why I think this was a bad law.

Should a Gay baker have to bake a cake for a Christian celebration?

Should a Christian baker have to bake a cake for a Gay wedding?

I heard Rush talking about this today, but I didn't hear the whole thing.  I did hear him say that Brewer was being "bullied" by the gays about this.  I heard a lady call in after that and hypothesized that might this lead to forcing doctors to perform abortions even if it was against their religion?  And I think that is a valid question, I can see that this might open the door for it.  Obama is already trying to force different religious groups to have to provide birth control against their beliefs.

If people had actually paid attention instead of the typical knee-jerk this bill actually strengthened a 1999 AZ bill and made it more difficult to discriminate unless you could provide unequivacable proof of your religious exception.  Poorly written, perhaps.. but not what the screamers are saying.

How about this:  If a business has to do business with groups they don't approve of on religious grounds, does it mean that a Muslim will have to sell pork to Christians in his Muslim meat market?

Here in AZ that isn't what is bringing her down. She has been about as popular as day old bread here for quite some time... she only won re-election because she signed the immigration bill.  She has been better than Napolitano was - but only by a very thin margin.  She is almost out of office anyway so this isn't going to bother her one way or the other.

In theory, yes.  But I think we all know that the Muslim will get a pass based on his religious opposition, where the rest of us won't.

I don't care if gay people want to get married, but I am absolutely against forcing a church to have to do it if it is against their beliefs.  I have a feeling that this is where this is all headed though.

One of the things about the AZ law is it would have given Muslims more freedom to discriminate against Christians, etc... it was a poorly written bill - which like all too many bad bills was written in haste... same thing can be said for the hasty gun bills in New York and Colorado.

What the authors wanted to do was address situations like the photographer in NM and the baker in Washington State experienced - and that is protect religious freedom.. people love to throw out red meat immediately saying "far right social wing-nuts."  All this does is impune Christians and their own closely held beliefs, which are as legitimately held as those of the homosexual community.

It's a real mess.

That it is.  We are turning our country inside out for approximately 3% of the population.  I was never bothered one way or the other by homosexuals - same as I never had any issues with blacks (until O and all the racist this and racist that).  These groups and their constant drum beats do more harm to their cause than good - oh, they may get their way, but they do it by alienating a big part of the population along the way.  I thought don't ask don't tell and civil unions was just fine - frankly people should all keep sex in the bedroom and that includes homosexual sex. I don't agree with the term marriage because I feel it is between a man and a woman and last I heard a man and a man or a woman and a woman could not procreate without mechanical assistance.

Slightly off topic, but indicative of where this country is going.  You probably know this already, but the biggest users of viagra in the country now is the 20-somethings.  The reason is thanks to the internet this age group has been so desensitized by watching porn they now need viagra to actually get stimulated enough to have sex.  My general sense is the country is moving in a bad direction overall and a lot of this will be regretted when it is too late to go back.,

I did not know that about the Viagra.  It's sad to watch what is happening, we're going the way of the Roman Empire and headed to a new Dark Age.

If the Muslim market sells pork, yes, it has to sell to Christians.

If the photographer doesn't want to do gay weddings, just stop doing weddings.

I don't get how baking a cake equals condoning a lifestyle.

So we're entering a Dark Age because 20-something boys can't get erections?  Are you friggin' serious?

I'd like to see a link to the evidence of this.  Viagra knocks you back for $25 a pill; I don't imagine that's in the budget of most 25 year olds.

How does the veto of this bill force doctors to perform abortions in Arizona?  If they're not "forced" now, not having this bill on the books won't force them.
