So we're all just too goddam stupid to know how good for us the stimulus really was.

Got it.

Be careful, and read even more carefully.  Here's the loaded catch phrase:  "didn't work."  The first point of order in responding to political agitprop of this sort is to question the premises, overt and implied, on which it rests.  The author clearly intends to discredit republicans by proving that there were at least some people who benefited from the stimulus; but that is not what the republican criticism of the stimulus consists of - arguing that no one got a benefit from it - and the author is attempting to pull the wool over readers' eyes by implying otherwise.  The stimulus didn't work because it was a waste - a colossal waste - of taxpayer money; that money would have been put to better use, and would have provided better results, if it had been left in the pockets of those from whom it was taken - or will be taken - and so, when cast in its true light, no, the stimulus "didn't work" because it was worse than the alternative - it was more wasteful and therefore more harmful.

A lot of fat cats got really really fat.
And we went another trillion in debt.
That's it.
November 6, 2012, a day in infamy...the death of a republic as we know it.
