Nugent apologizes for calling Obama 'subhuman mongrel'

By Rebecca Shabad

Singer Ted Nugent apologized on Friday for calling President Obama a “subhuman mongrel” last month.

“I do apologize, not necessarily to the president, but on behalf of much better men than myself,” Nugent said in a radio interview on the "Ben Ferguson Show."

The rocker said he was sorry for using “street fighter terminology of subhuman mongrel,’ ” and admitted, "I did cross the line.”

Nugent said he should have used a term such as “violator of his oath, the Constitution” instead.

The apology came just a day after Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) urged Nugent to apologize for the remark.

“Ted Nugent's derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize,” Paul tweeted Thursday night.

Republican Gov. Rick Perry (Texas) also criticized Nugent on Thursday for the “mongrel” comment.

“I’ve got a problem with someone calling the president a ‘mongrel.’ That is an inappropriate thing to say,” Perry said on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

Nugent made the comment in an interview at a Las Vegas trade show last month.

"I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America,” Nugent said.

Nugent campaigned for Greg Abbott’s (R) Texas gubernatorial race this week. Abbott currently serves as the state’s attorney general.

On Wednesday, Sarah Palin endorsed Abbott and supported Nugent’s appearance at the event.

Abbott's playing with fire hanging around a true scumbag like Nugent.  Yes, he supports the 2nd amendment, but he's also never fully renounced his earlier practice of bonking under-age girls.

Why on earth these guys think having Nugent at their elbows makes them look cool is beyond me.

Nugent was absolutely correct in calling obama this and I wish he had been smart and not apologized for stating the truth.

Nugent's a prop used by some conservatives to demonstrate a certain "coolness" factor.  He's easily disposable, especially when he embarrasses everyone in the room with his over-the-top political commentary.

He had to apologize or Greg Abbott would have beat feet away from him.

He should apologize to dogs everywhere for comparing them to Obama.  What an insult to man's best friend!

When the whole of the demonrat party stands up and apologizes for their incessant BS maybe, but not until.
The right is ALWAYS extreme!  Not the left though, oh no.

And when has the other party's politicians apologized for their sexual abuses?

 Apologizing has to stop.

The BS of hearing someone asking for or demanding an apology. Especially askers of low character.

Stand by what you say.  Say it again, with emphasis.  With improved adjectives.  Make a larger headline.

If a politician doesn't like it, then tell him, not to call you anymore.

In the meantime, the politician should refer the interviewer, whatever the paid socialist help call themselves, to ask the person making the statement.
