Within just a few more hours, The Rematch will occur: Syracuse versus Duke. And I am expecting it to be a very good one.
Both teams are coming off losses; so both will probably be angry.
Duke's recent loss, however--to the University of North Carolina--is sure to be especially hurtful. Although there is some rivalry between Syracuse and Boston College--the two have played some real barnburners over the past three decades or so--what exists between Duke and North Carolina is especially intense. And bitter.
Given this, plus the fact that Duke would like to avenge its heartbreaking loss to Syracuse just three weeks ago--and given also that this game is being played in Cameron Indoor Stadium, rather than the Carrier Dome--I would give a slight edge to Duke.
Then again, I gave a slight edge to the Broncos over the Seahawks in the Super Bowl; so my ability at picking these showdowns is not particularly impressive...
