"The Tea Party has a right to feel cheated.

When does the Republican Party, put in the majority by the Tea Party, plan to honor its commitment to halt the growth of the Federal monolith and bring the budget back into balance"?

He understands it.  He just doesn't agree with it.  :chairbang:

Before you kill a free press, you have to HAVE a free press first.

It's been quite some time since we had one.

Most members of the press would gladly trot to the chopping block, carrying the ax, if Obama told them to...

That's right.

This is a way to instill fear in the troops.  To intimidate.  And to go after Conservative media.

People cannot be captive and educated at the same time, something the "Constitutional scholar" understands perfectly.
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."

Also in that category are those who believe they are educated when they are indoctrinated, which is exactly what is happening in the schools and media.  Those people are about as knowledgeable as a jackass with books on his back.

I've been watching NBC for the Olympics this afternoon - was working so didn't change channel during news... Lester Holt did a special on Stalin (shock not) and the interesting thing about the report was a recent poll in Putin's Russia is Russians are now starting to think Stalin was a pretty great guy.

And to get to the topic of education the report said today in Russian schools there is a lot of debate about Stalin and a lot of parsing history. Sound familiar?
