Being for TARP is one thing – many fiscal conservatives were – but being for it before you were against it, that's quite another thing. Bevin was on record supporting TARP. Though, I suppose one could choose to believe his explanation for signing the financial statement putting him on record.
By not refusing to sign those letters Bevin missed an opportunity to demonstrate his adherence to high principles.

He did not, and it is entirely correct to measure him accordingly.

Link to a recent poll?

They are now tied with Bevin beating the dem.

Bevin is outpolling Grimes, while McConnel is losing to Grimes. Hmm.....

Dear Sink,

Senator Mitch McConnell is 72 years old.he.needs.to.retire

And with McConnell gone it'll open up a leadership position. And Lord knows we need a new breed of senate leader. (Hopefully, a Majority Leader.)

As I said, anyone who, looking at historical data, still refuses to believe TARP was necessary is an economic idiot.

LOL!!  OK, 22 points.  That's a HUGE lead, and Bevin has no way to make that up, especially since his butt's in a wringer over his endorsement of TARP.

You still did not provide a link. AGAIN... The only recent poll I found had them tied and Bevin beating the democrat.

Why won't the man retire?

Matt Bevin Leads Grimes by 6 in KY; McConnell Tied

There is a reason Democrats are targeting US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in red state Kentucky: he is wildly unpopular, uncharismatic, and ineffective. McConnell's lead has continued to shrink, from a 7 point advantage, down to 4, 1, and now a tie. It has little to do with a surge by Grimes, who has remained unmoved since entering the race. All of McConnell's erosion is his own.

The latest Rasmussen Report poll (that shows a 42-42 tie between McConnell and Grimes) also shows conservative alternative Matt Bevin up 6 on the Democrat. This is a marked improvement from a December poll by PPP that had both Republicans up on Grimes by 1. Though they did not release any primary race figures, Matt Bevin has increased his standing in the primary with every new poll, and the momentum is very Rubio-esque in nature.
Here are two things Kentucky conservatives should now consider:

1) If Matt Bevin is electable - and two separate polls now suggest he might be even more electable - should conservatives go with the more conservative of the two? Is it now a greater risk to have McConnell in the race? The establishment candidates blew every race in 2012, so giving them the benefit of the doubt is out of the window.

2) If the GOP retakes control of the Senate, do we really want Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader? Or would we conservatives rather another vote in a new direction? The Senate and Congress are already at bottom-of-the-barrel levels in terms of public opinion, and how does that change by staying with the status quo?

Why don't you go up a couple of posts on THIS THREAD and read that McConnell leads Bevin 53-31 in a recent Human Events poll.

Bevin is losing and has always been losing to McConnell.  Why should McConnell quit when he beats his only primary challenger who now has his butt in a wringer over being in favor of TARP before he opposed TARP?

Ah, you left out one important fact:

McConnell is handily beating Bevin
I thought you were one of the people who insisted that we needed to win the chamber. So why do you continue to endorse the weaker candidate?

Because he's a bad senator. Next question.

McConnell will beat Grimes handily by the time November rolls around.  Have you ever heard this broad give a speech?  She'll crumble in a debate with McConnell.

Democrats believe Lundergan Grimes has a strong shot at taking down the longtime senator, who has seen his approval ratings plummet. A recent poll of the race showed him as unpopular as President Obama in the Bluegrass State.

Being that polls show Bevin as beating this democratic woman that old slick willy is fighting for you would think Mitch would pull out now and retire and put country before politics.

Similarly, If the polls showed McConnell could beat her hands down then Bevin should bow out.

Yes.  Mitch is unpopular every time he runs, but he always seems to win.  The Democrats are whistling in the dark with Grimes.

As long as old people keep returning old people to office in the GOP the party is going to die a slow death. These old farts are obviously intimidated by new blood, but more these old farts do not attract the millenials to the party and that is what is going to kill the party... not the tea party, but the old party who are nothing but what is commonly called Country Club Republicans. Most of us know these men do not care one whit about any of us voters no matter if we are tea party of not, they only care about maintaining their power and keeping as many people sucked into voting for them as possible so they can maintain their little utopia in DC.

Nah.  "Old farts" are men, "broads" are women.

I labeled Ted Nugent a scumbag the other day with nary a peep.

Next thing you know we'll be accused of conducting a war on women.

You are not a reasonable poster, you make people walk on eggshells in discussion with your higher than mighty petard you put yourself on. Shall I go through your post history and see if you have ever used a derogatory word or said the eff word? No one likes the grammar police either, shall I get English teacher to peruse your posts. Grasp some humor bud, because I am going to post freely and if you don't like it you can lump it.
