Government Motors Pace Car Lights Up Nascar – Literally!

Chevy is lighting up the road!

You have to see this video. The Government Motors newly launched 2015 SS sports sedan was performing pace duties at the Nascar Sprint Cup at Daytona on Sunday when it went on fire.

Our bailout money was well spent!

Brett Bodine wired the Tower, “Tower, we’re on fire.”

Chevrolet admitted in a statement that the fire was in the trunk where they keep “a purpose-built auxiliary electrical kit to operate the numerous caution lights during the race.” Do you believe this loon language? Purpose-built? What does that mean exactly? Isn’t everything purpose-built except for a Rube Goldberg?

“The pace car driver and passenger safely exited the vehicle,” the statement said. “An assessment is underway.”

Earlier this week, Chevy recalled 778,562 of its 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5 compacts in North America after faulty ignition switches were linked to six deaths.
