North Carolina Democratic Party to Name Racist Hate Group Leader as Exec Director

But it’s okay, we’re talking about the Nation of Islam and the Democratic Party. It’s not like some junior Republican forwarded a racist email. This won’t be covered by the national media.

Among other problems, the North Carolina Democratic Party has a sexual harassment problem. (Again, don’t look for the media to cover it.)

Jay Parmley, North Carolina’s Democratic Party executive director, has been accused of sexual harassment by Adriadn Ortega, a former communications staffer for the state party, according to a report by the J.W.P. Civitas Institute.

So the North Carolina Democratic Party decided to bring in a truly clean Executive Director.

Chavis is a longtime civil rights advocate who was jailed for four years in 1970s as a member of the Wilmington 10, a group convicted but later cleared in a fire bombing that spurred a race riot in the city.

He became leader of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1993 but served less than 17 months after being ousted for striking a secret deal to pay an employee $332,400 to settle her sexual harassment claim.

Chavis, an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ, later converted to Islam, taking the name Benjamin Muhammed. In 1997, he became second-in-command to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, leading the organization’s East Coast ministry, according to reports at the time.

Three years later, a woman connected to the Nation of Islam alleged in a lawsuit he sexually harassed her. It was settled in 2006, and the woman received $135,000 from the temple. Chavis did not pay any sum to settle the case, and he made no admission of liability.

Two sexual harassment lawsuits in two different religions. Chavis really is an overachiever. The North Carolina Democratic Party better start putting away enough money to cover the next sexual harassment lawsuit.

And Chavis better start preparing for his conversion to Buddhism.

But it really does say something that the North Carolina Democratic Party feels so free to appoint a top leader in a hate group which believes that white people are inferior and calls for secession.

But when Chavis gets caught with his pants down one more time, he’ll have someone to blame for it the way that he did when he was booted out of the NAACP.

Before he was fired over sexual harassment issues by the NAACP, Chavis went on BET to announce. “I have considerable evidence that there were groups, organized groups, in New York City and Washington, D.C., some connected with right-wing Jewish groups, that worked in coalition together to put pressure on the NAACP.”

This was what the right-wing Jewish groups were responsible for.

He took office with what is now described as $600,000 in the NAACP’s bank account and, in little more than a year, ran up a $3 million debt. He paid big, secret money to one woman who’d sued him and dodged a bullet with another woman who decided to change her story at the last minute.

And when Chavis converted to Islam, then the Jews really went after him.

In papers filed in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, Williams, 30, claimed that Minister Benjamin, 52, pressured her for sex for several months and that she repeatedly rebuffed him. In January, he showed up at her house without his usual bodyguards, according to the documents, first published in the New York Post. “Complaining that he had not had sex with his wife for six months.

A few weeks later, Williams charges, Minister Benjamin asked her for oral sex. When she refused, he allegedly told her: “This is the will of Allah that the two of us be together.”

I blame the right-wing Jews for making Allah tell Chavis to do that. And the North Carolina Democratic Party should too.
