Ex-CIA Director Compares Obama’s Dealings with Iran to Actions of Notorious Nazi Appeaser

Ex CIA Director R. James Woolsey Compares Obamas Dealings with Iran to Neville Chamberlains with Nazis

Buck Sexton interviewed on his radio show Saturday former CIA director Amb. R. James Woolsey, now the chair of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and Woosley gave a damning critique of the Obama administration’s handling of the Iranian nuclear agreement.

Woolsey, CIA director from 1993 to 1995, told Sexton that Obama’s dealings with the Iranian government have been “roughly equivalent to Neville Chamberlain’s at Munich in the 1930s.”

“We are basically caving in,” Woolsey said.

Chamberlain was prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1937 to 1940 and is known for appeasing the aggression of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis — in particular with the Munich Agreement in 1938, which conceded Czechoslovakia’s German-populated Sudetenland to Germany.

More from Woolsey:
Quote
“We achieved a little bit of a draw down in some of their nuclear capability in terms of the speed with which they could develop a nuclear weapon, but not really much. And we gave away the impetus that was behind our program of setting up all the restrictions we placed on Iranian trade, boycotts and the rest. We started turning that around. And now it’s going to be hard to move it where we should move it if we want to cause major disruption in the Iranian government, and I think we should want to do that.”

When Sexton asked Woolsey about Iran’s potential to have a nuclear weapon ready to deploy that the U.S. couldn’t stop, the ambassador said one could be ready in “six months to a year.” But he added that the Iranians don’t need something sophisticated in order to trigger an electromagnetic pulse, which would be “devastating.”

On that note, Woolsey told Sexton that an EMP poses a security threat in the U.S. as well.

You can listen to the entire interview below; Woolsey’s comments comparing Obama’s dealings with Iran to Chamberlain’s with the Nazis come just after the four-minute mark:

  • Your what hurts??
Not the first to make that comparison, and if you know your History you know he is exactly right.

This is an excellent time to read or re-read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich".

Not this crap again.

For about the 80th time - WE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER RUN IN ABOUT TWO BLOODY DAYS!

We had bog all army, no weapons, no support structure, our Air Force was still flying biplanes, for god's sake. He bought us time to arm up. Which we could only do because before he was PM he encouraged defense and domestic manufacturing expansion.

Get tired of Chamberlain being used as a shorthand by lazy hacks that can't be bothered to pick up a history book.
