James Clapper Warns of Terrorists Coming to the US to Kill Americans

Obama’s lie that al Qaeda is defeated and on the run is his most dangerous lie.
Al Qaeda is now as dangerous as it was in 2001. More alarming is the fact that terrorists in Syria are being trained to come back to the US to kill Americans. This was revealed in testimony by James Clapper at a senate hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday.
During the senate hearings on Capitol Hill today, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, said that the al Qaeda threat is as bad as it was in 2001.
More than 7,000 Westerners are fighting with terrorists in Syria. When Sen. Dianne Feinstein asked Clapper if we should be concerned about terrorists coming back to the US to engage in attacks here in the US, Clapper said ‘we should be very concerned.’
These 7,000 can come back to the US and other Western nations trained and with new contacts and plans to attack the homeland.
Mr. Obama has repeatedly and knowingly lied about the existential threat al Qaeda presents to the United States and is engaged in an active cover up. Obama wants the American people to believe that al Qaeda died with Osama bin Laden and with the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The truth is that the Boston Bombing could be the first of many such attacks on US soil.
Americans are unwitting pawns in a political game.
Remarkably, Tuesday evening, during the State of the Union address, Mr. Obama said, that if the United States remained in Afghanistan, they would ‘carry out two narrow missions: training and assisting Afghan forces, and counterterrorism operations to pursue any remnants of al Qaeda.’
In fact, the Unites States needs the four planned bases in Afghanistan from which to launch drone attacks against Pakistani ‘franchises’ of Al Qaeda’. Losing these bases is not simply the loss of some ‘narrow’ mission.
Mr. Obama deviously describes ‘remnants of al Qaeda’ when it is known that al Qaeda has spread and is as dangerous as it has ever been.
Mr. Obama said this in his State of the Union address:
‘The fact is, that danger remains. While we have put al Qaeda’s core leadership on a path to defeat, the threat has evolved, as al Qaeda affiliates and other extremists take root in different parts of the world. In Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, and Mali, we have to keep working with partners to disrupt and disable these networks. In Syria, we’ll support the opposition that rejects the agenda of terrorist networks. Here at home, we’ll keep strengthening our defenses, and combat new threats like cyberattacks.’
Mr. Obama is not being honest. The ‘core’ al Qaeda is in communication with the so-called ‘franchises’ or ‘affiliates.’
During his testimony, Mr. Clapper referred to the decimation of ‘core’ al Qaeda, semantically covering up for the fact that al Qaeda is not decimated, they are not on the run, and they are not dead, they have metastasized . Mr. Obama refers to the ‘franchises’ of al Qaeda as if they were Burger Kings, to quote pundit George Will.

Afghanistan will soon become a stronghold for the Taliban.
During the State of the Union Address last evening, President Obama said that we would keep ‘a small force of Americans in Afghanistan’ if Karzai signs a status of forces agreement, an agreement which Karzai has clearly stated he will not sign.
Karzai, for his part, is accusing the United States of killing Afghans and other Americans. He is attempting to curry favor with the Taliban who plan to come in and take over Afghanistan after our military depart.
The Washington Post is reporting that Karzai is accusing the US of being behind at least a dozen insurgent attacks which killed Afghans and Americans. The US motive, he claims, is to undermine his government.
Karzai knows he has to work out an agreement with the Taliban or he will end up like his predecessor who was in office when the Taliban came in and was brutally murdered by them. Karzai is shifting allegiance to the Taliban, the very people we went into Afghanistan to stop.
Karzai might already have plans to flee Afghanistan.
Obama’s handling of the war’s end was clumsy at best. Announcing a withdrawal date set it up for failure and led to many of the blue-on-green murders.
Now Mr. Obama is going to cede Afghanistan to the Taliban, ignore Syria and the 7,000 Western terrorists who will be free to return to the US after the war and commit attacks on US soil.
Something needs to be done, but Mr. Obama is the bystander president and he won’t do anything except continue to lie about the extent of the threat.
