I always put cinnamon in my coffee cup before brewing my morning cappuccino, and I add it to my tea with lemon and honey.  Diabetics would do well to take cinnamon capsules several times a day (chromium, too)

I've been adding cinnamon to my homemade protein fruit shake for years. Mostly for the flavor, but I know it has some health benefits as well.

aligncare's daily protein shake:

Serving of EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder
Half an Apple
Four dried plums
Third of a banana
Quarter cup raw sliced almonds
Half cup wild blueberries
Tablespoon Canadian flax seed blend
Tablespoon heavy cream
Half tablespoon cinnamon
Enough 1% milk to make a smoothie.

It's a little heavy on the calories but oh, so delicious. Fuels me till mid-afternoon.

I make my smoothie with

a scoop of 100% Whey and a scoop of High Energy Protein Powder and a scoop of lecithin mixed with Chia Seeds.
1/2 coconut milk
1/2 almond milk
Fresh Strawberries or Raspberries or mixed berries
Frozen peaches
ice

I stay away from Flax for the most part because it is a higher Omega 6 - I take Krill Oil every day instead.

I like the sound of that coconut milk, almond milk combo. I'll have to give that a try. Certainly a lower calorie smoothie than mine.

Now, about the article. Read it with a healthy dose of skepticism. Most articles of faith in the natural foods area that sound too good to be true, usually are. Just saying.

Almond milk alone is too thick with the protein powders added in, the coconut milk is too thin, the two mixed together is just right and the taste is good. I buy the low cal options instead of the vanilla flavors which is higher calorie versions.  Our local Albertsons has a brand you can buy that is already 1/2 and 1/2 but it's more expensive so I just buy both and mix it myself.

LOL! I saw one the other day that involved ginger juice, lime juice, Garlic juice, apple cider vinegar, and honey as an alternative to angioplasty.

I think I'll just take my chances!
