Wendy Davis Supporters Demand Medical Records To Prove Greg Abbott Really Is A Paraplegic

They get on to people when they insist on seeing evidence that proves Obama was in fact born in the United States. They call them conspiracy theorists for not trusting the official documents released by the administration and for saying the documents are doctored or forged. But when liberals do the same thing, they’re just trying to find the truth.

As you know, Wendy Davis’s likely opponent is Greg Abbott, who’s been a wheelchair-bound paraplegic for 30 years. Wendy Davis’s supporters are raising questions about whether Abbott really is a paraplegic or not. After all, he did father a child after the incident, and according to one supporter, the odds of that happening are so small that Abbott might be pretending to be a paraplegic just to get sympathy votes.

According to the Daily Caller:

One disbelieving commenter, Robert Cuthbertson, expressed skepticism via Texas Tribune on Facebook that Abbott actually needs his wheelchair.

“They mock Ms. Davis!!! Give us the medical records. Prove he is paraplegic. he had a kid after the incident…check to see what the odds are of that happening with SEVERE lower spinal cord injury!!”

The totality of Cuthbertson’s personal Facebook page, which features leftist cant and a ton of cats, suggests that his post is sincere.

Meanwhile, at the Dallas Morning News, commenter Ed Lopez opined:

“Republican voters hate strong women because the bible tells them to. Oh and poor Wendy has to run against a guy in a wheelchair who might or might not need the wheelchair to get around and we have never gotten the true story of how he ended up in the wheelchair and how much money he made in the law suit!”

Davis has recently been reeling from a series of seemingly unforced, not-ready-for-primetime gaffes, all of which relate to Abbott’s disability.

Last week, conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released a video showing supporters of Davis mocking Abbott for his disability. In the undercover footage Davis supporters are seen saying things such as: “I’m really wondering how this is going to work out, since he’s in a wheelchair and most the slogans are ‘Stand with Wendy,’” one supporter said.

And we all know that if Abbott were to provide his medical records, they’d all say they were forged.

I don’t really have a problem at all with people raising questions against an official government report or document, or questioning the government’s motives. But I think in this case, the Davis supporters are just upset because their candidate was found out to be a complete fake.

Constitutions are not designed for metaphysical or logical subtleties, for niceties of expression, for critical propriety, for elaborate shades of meaning, or for the exercise of philosophical acuteness or judicial research. They are instruments of a practical nature, founded on the common business of human life, adapted to common wants, designed for common use, and fitted for common understandings.
