Michael Bloomberg: Amnesty Needed to Prevent 'National Suicide'

by Tony Lee 26 Jan 2014 937

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it was not an "exaggeration" to say America would be committing "national suicide" if it does not pass amnesty legislation.

“Our current immigration laws are national suicide,” Bloomberg said on Friday at an immigration summit in Washington. “I don’t think that’s an exaggeration.”

Bloomberg, who spent most of 2013 financing campaigns for more gun control and intends to focus on amnesty in 2014, then offered some unsolicited advice to Republicans, saying that the GOP also will not have a future if it does not embrace more amnesty.

“If you are against the fastest-growing voting bloc in the country, you and your party don’t have a future,” Bloomberg also said.

Many House Republicans disagree with Bloomberg's assessment, though, and believe amnesty legislation will actually threaten the country's future. As Breitbart's Matt Boyle reported, 16 House Republicans recently proclaimed that amnesty legislation would be the "final economic blow" for American workers. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has also determined that the Senate's immigration bill would lower the wages of American workers.

This would create one party in this country. Amnesty is not good for Republicans or Democrats because we are already teetering on being a one-party country with Boehner and McConnell not doing their part to stop this advancing Fascism... and a one party country guarantees what I said in 2008 - that we would be come Venezuela under O even closer to fruition.

You do not reward lawbreakers by giving them amnesty.  What you do is encourage even more law breakers will come here because they know eventually they, too, will receive citizenship and they know our laws do not mean anything...  Right now in Taft, CA there is a Federal Prision.  Actually two prisons side-by-side.  One is a medium security prison for people who have broken federal laws like taxes, drugs, etc.. the other next door is a higher security prison with three times the number of inmates (1500) and it is strictly for illegal aliens who have committed Federal crimes and are being incarcerated on our dime in the USA instead of deporting them. Each prisoner costs the taxpayers of this country $27,000 a year each..., so one prison 1500 X $27,000  - you do the math! and how many prisons like this around the country. Add in welfare, and free healthcare and pretty soon we're speaking some serious money - money that should be going to our returning, injured veterans.
