Al Gore's untruths grow more extreme
« on: January 26, 2014, 06:29:07 AM »
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

Our church cancelled Sunday services today for only the second time in my memory, due to hazardous icy and snow-covered roads. We did our part to warm the planet - we've fired up the woodburning stove almost every night - but it just hasn't worked. Still 10 degrees.
A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

You don't need church to have a chat with Him. Nothing wrong with setting in front of the fire, a nice hot cup of coffee or tea and just looking into the flames.

(Note - not hot chocolate. Pajama Boy ruined that pleasure)

Al Gore becomming 'more extreme' is predictable, inevitable, and redundant. However, I don't know how you can become 'more extreme' than screaming as loud as you can, "THE WORLD IS GOING TO EXPLODE, AND EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIIIIIIIEEEEEE! (unless you all give me money. lots and lots of money)

What could be more extreme than that?

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but as a technical matter, it's my understanding that an increase in the mean global temperature, which is really what so-called "global warming" is about at bottom, could cause an increase in violent weather, including an increase in extremely cold weather during winter, for the simple reason that in increase in the mean global temperature basically means that there's more energy in the atmosphere and therefore more energy available to drive masses of cold air from the poles farther toward the equator than would generally be the case without such an increase.

The argument really isn't about whether the mean global temperature is going up or down, it's about whether any increase, if real, is caused by human activity or not.  And that is where too many so-called scientists have abandoned science and become political agit-prop mouth pieces, because there is precious little real evidence that human activity is causing any hypothesized increase in temperature.
