Bringing Home the Bacon? Price Up 55% in 4 Years
« on: January 22, 2014, 01:05:45 pm »
(CNSNews.com) - The price of bacon has jumped 55.2 percent in four years, according to data released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

In December 2009, sliced bacon was $3.57 per pound. In December 2013, it was $5.54 per pound--an increase of $1.97, or 55.2 percent.

The increase in the price of bacon over the past four years has outpaced the increase in the overall consumer price index or CPI. The CPI was 215.949 in December 2009 and 233.049 in December 2013—an increase of 7.9 percent.

When does the Republican Party, put in the majority by the Tea Party, plan to honor its commitment to halt the growth of the Federal monolith and bring the budget back into balance"?

Cost of living allowance AKA COLAs. Deciphering who gets them shows Obamas war with America. He could give a rats petard about the middle class while the poor sit on their butts all day and get the government teet.

When our country had the last great depression, we owned up to it.

The media barely calls our current economy a great recession.

Rand or Cruz should get a slogan going...a job and a chicken in every pot, dismantle big gov and audit our pocket book already and no more senseless wars.

No kidding. I remember BO=before Obama getting a roasting chicken for 3-5 dollars. Now they are 12 or 13 dollars.

A beef roast is now priced like filet mignon and filet mignon is only in the fresh market type stores; where the Hollywood stars shop when they go to their houses on figure eight island here.
