In 2009, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) released findings concluding that some 1.2 million Americans over the age of twelve had abused methamphetamine in the last 12-month period. A year later, a report published by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) indicated some 13 million people were thought to have abused methamphetamine during their lives.
