Let's see how the reality of socialism lives up to its purported popularity.

The false promise of prosperity, as paid for by taxing the living crap out of producers always ends up the same way: with a rapidly declining standard of living for those who were fooled or bribed by the thieving political class into thinking that bullshit can ever be spun into gold.
Liberalism isn't really about making the world a better place. It's about reassuring the elites that they are good people for wanting to rule over it.

The immediate reality facing the Republicans is the opportunity facing them in the 2016 midterms, and continuing to run decent candidates against vulnerable Democrats all over the nation.  All politics really are local, and that means getting fresh faces to run and helping them get elected for now.

The Republicans stand a very good chance of taking charge of the US Senate, and until they do nothing else matters.  There is not a snowball's chance in hell of countering Obama in the last two years of his regime with Harry Reid and the Democrats in charge of the Senate.  Win that battle and after the midterms we shall see who has the Leadership needed to win the Presidency.

and if they should get hold of the Senate it would behoove them to keep the "50 vote" rule.
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.

A recent conversation with a veteran of GOP presidential campaigns raised this question...

For perspective, I asked William H. Frey, a demographer and census expert at the Brookings Institution, as well as Republican and Democratic strategists of past campaigns

I doubt this Brookings institute lackey ever worked for a GOP Presidential candidate much lees is a veteran.  Probably why he is named so late in the story...which is sh*t by the way.

Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!.....
...They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security

Want to bet that, should the Repubs take the Senate, that the 50 vote rule is urgently rescinded by the Dems BEFORE the new senators are sworn in?
