On Friday's Beck does a telephone thing with is listeners where he asks them historical questions to see what they can answer.  Yesterday one of the questions was who fought each other in the war between the states... no one was able to answer... and only one knew what the Statue of Liberty is holding in her hand.  So by all means in Common Core let's keep having them read manuals instead of history books /s
