 Rush Limbaugh: RINOs like ‘wildebeests’

Rush Limbaugh on Thursday likened Republicans to “a bunch of wildebeests” for not voicing support for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

“Have any of the RINOs, the Republicans in name only, the moderate Republicans, have any Republican establishment types come out and said that they support Christie? They haven’t,” Rush said on his radio show, according to a transcript. “This is the thing, folks. This is the thing. Republicans, when any of them get in trouble, I mean, it’s like a bunch of wildebeests.”

In the Republican Party, as in the world of wildebeests, “when one of them gets in trouble, nobody steps up to defend ‘em,” Limbaugh told his listeners.

“If a lion in Africa attacks a wildebeest, all the other wildebeests scram and get out of there and offer no assistance whatsoever,” he said. “You’ve seen it on National Geographic. You’ve seen it on all the earth shows, all the animal shows, animals eating animal shows, you’ve seen it all. And the Republican Party is the same way.”

Republicans just “stand aside and wait and see how it’s going to end up because they are afraid to get involved and be tarnished,” the conservative radio host said. And that’s the exact scenario Christie is finding himself in as he seeks to limit the damage from the bridge closure scandal, Limbaugh said.

“Even though Christie has denied any involvement, fired two staffers, and has claimed he was lied to, even with that, none of the Democrats who Christie claims that he works with and gets along with have come out and supported him, and no Republicans have, either,” he added.
