So A Boy Walks Into The Girls' Locker Room

Kevin McCullough
So what do a bunch of Colorado nuns, an illegal immigrant lawyer, and the rest of America all have in common?

Normally the answer would be a crude punch line to some highly inappropriate joke, I'm sure. But not in 2014.

But in three of the biggest headlines this week--or stories that should have been--the only thing linking them is the absurdity that allowed them to come to pass to begin with.

In Colorado, nuns--who serve at the discretion of the Catholic church--which is utterly pro-life--was sharply rebuked on Friday by the United States Justice Department in arguments about the case the nuns had brought all the way to the Supreme Court.

No I know this will be difficult to understand, but the nuns have a belief--imagine their audacity--that says that the taking of lives of innocent children's lives is a sin. I know--imagine the backward, warped sense of moral turpitude that must reside inside these bigoted, narrow minded, women hating... nuns.

We await word on what the very anti-Catholic United States Supreme Court is likely to say about this entire mess.

Meanwhile... A state supreme court issued a ruling this week allowing illegal immigrants--you know people who flaunted the law to even get here--to "practice" law in the United States--a land whose law they've already broken merely through existing in the particular geography they are in this minute. And in a further display of absolute clarity, the Supreme Court of this said state, voted unanimously to allow the law license of the #undocumerican (undocumented American resident) to go forward.

They did so partially reversing their own hesitancy earlier in the same case. They had previously cited in earlier arguments that because federal law precluded giving people living illegally in America any form of law license then perhaps their state should as well. Obviously someone had a change of heart because when the verdict came down none--not one--of the state Supreme Court Justices--felt any compunction about giving a non-citizen-living-illegally-in-America a law license.

While my twitter and facebook feeds were filling up with all kinds of snark about the two stories listed above I couldn't help how many of them missed the most absurd story of the week.

That turned out to be Jerry Brown, the Governor of California, announcing he had signed into law the new AB 1266. Now he announced the signing of this law, even though there was on the final day allowed more than enough signatures for referendum to repeal, but what's a little election law breaking when you're the Governor of California?

So as of this past Monday CBS News reported that students in every California public high school can now pick which locker room, bathroom, and sports team they wished to utilize, given that sex segregation is not now evidently something the State of California believes in.

Oh sure the lawmakers that passed the law--and elected by the "citizens" of the state--claim the measure is only designed to allow struggling, transitioning, or transgendered students to make such choices. And no doubt they are telling the one true God's honest truth right?

I mean no 14 year old boy I've ever known, would've ever been tempted to use some loophole merely to get into the girls' locker room. Because our little kiddies are just perfect and never do anything they're not supposed to... Right?

I guess there is one other characteristic that holds these three stories together besides their utter absurdity, and that is the absolute lunacy of the philosophical, theological, economical, and political left that forms the basis of "reasoning" for those that defend each of these policies.

Leftists don't believe there are moral absolutes -- so you can make nuns participate in abortions. (A mortal sin in their faith.)

Leftists don't believe there are moral absolutes -- so the recognized law of "We The People" can be shredded so long as leftists get more hispanic votes in 2014.

Leftists don't believe there are moral absolutes -- so any who seek to say that boys and girls are different from one another must be isolated, marginalized, and eliminated.

People of true values, true integrity, and true dignity see the folly of these ham-handed efforts. I mean, the left isn't even employing any sophistication about it anymore.

The progressive just believes that they "know." And you (and I) "don't!"

Lastly, I'd also like to know what the rush is with all of this. The administration, just moments after SCOTUS justice Sottomayor allowed a reprieve to the Colorado nuns, were immediately filing briefs arguing why they--and other faith groups--should not be allowed even temporary exemption from Obamacare on the basis of religion. Which is rich given that the administration personally granted more than 4000 exemptions to companies and persons for truly far less important reasons.

Why must we now have people practicing law that they are not subject to? Why must our daughters be wondering if the boy using the locker next to her is looking at her because he wants to borrow her clothes, or get in her pants.

Why must we be dealing with any of it?

Because the left does not believe there are moral absolutes.

Good job in drawing a parallel and giving the cause for the absurdity we now face in America.
"What unrepentant sin against Jesus Christ does a Republican have to commit, before you will stop rewarding them with your vote?"

I don't vote for degenerate liberals.  No matter what letter they have after their names.

May 3, 2016 - the day the Republican party left ME.  I am now without a Party, and quite possibly without a country.  May God have mercy!

That the bar of any state would admit an illegal immigrant to the practice of law - other than someone who was brought here as a young child - should be a clear signal that the so-called Rules of Professional Responsibility, or the older Canon, mean nothing except to the extent they can be used by lawyers who control the disciplinary committees to manipulate and punish people they do not like.  Why?  Because someone who entered illegally - other than the aforementioned child - has clearly demonstrated a lack of respect for the law which, under the terms of the Rules of Conduct, is either grounds for discipline or an aggravating factor for any other conduct that would subject a lawyer to discipline.
I won't vote for Clinton, but I cannot vote for Trump.  How could I explain to my daughter why I supported a man who sees her as nothing more than a piece of meat, a piece of a$$ for him to grope for his own private pleasure.

"Trump supporter" - the very definition of an SFI

As I recall the story, the person did try, several times, to sort out the paperwork involved and be legal.
Before you bitch about the youth of today ... think about who raised them.
