DNC Chief Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s New Year’s Resolution: ‘To Combat Tea Party Republican Intransigence’

In a Wednesday article from Politico detailing various political figures’ New Year’s resolutions, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz made a promise to fight back against “Tea Party Republican intransigence.”
This is a familiar tune that never seems to get old for Democrats, but is a fiction to which they appear steadfastly committed.
Wasserman-Schultz stated,
“In my view, to combat the paralysis caused by tea party Republican intransigence, we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot and ensure Democrats hold the Senate and take back the House. As we head into an election year, it is within the power of each and every voter to end the gridlock that has plagued our legislative process. In 2014, let’s resolve to end obstructionism and push for a more constructive dialogue with each other… Let’s talk to one another and try to find common ground, even when it seems difficult. The single most important way that we can all resolve to do better in 2014 is to vote — and vote for candidates who are willing to work together, put aside ‘my-way-or-the-highway’ attitudes and get things done.”
We hear this same, tired phrasing over and over again from Democrats. They posture as if it is the patriotic duty of elected conservatives to pass laws regardless of how bad for America they might be. We elect people to the legislative branch of government to deliberate and make decisions, not to rubber-stamp every hair-brained piece of awful legislation to pass through the House and Senate.
Democrats operate in accordance with an unofficial motto: “Don’t think, just vote.” Vote for bad legislation, vote for good legislation- it doesn’t matter. They want to augment government in every way and the more the Tea Party obstructs bad bills from becoming bad laws, the angrier they become.
If we examine the endangered economic footing America is in, we see that we are still dealing with the carnage wrought by having four years of a Democrat-controlled House and Senate.
As Obamacare implodes, leaving a mess for this and future generations to clean up, Democrats, who rammed the legislation down the throats of Americans, are angry with Tea Partiers who dare to utter, “I told you so.”
As the national debt continues to skyrocket past the $17 trillion mark, the Democrats are angry not with each other over their disastrous tax-and-spend policies, but with Tea Partiers who are resistant to raising the debt ceiling further.
As Democrats continue to blame the Tea Party for the government shutdown, they neglect to mention that the Republican-controlled House submitted a continuing resolution; the Democrat-controlled Senate would not fund a government bereft of Obamacare.
Still, we hear from Wasserman-Schultz that she’s looking to “end obstructionism.”
If she, and other Democrats, wish to end obstructionism, they must alter their radical policies and behavior. We cannot continue to try the same failed ideas that have delivered this nation from bad to worse
