They said it was going to be an exciting playoff season and they weren't kidding.  First weekend had an unbelievable comeback victory,  and a" they said it couldn't be done" nail biting on-the-road win for the Saints.

And with the Saint's last stop in Seattle resulting in a 34-7 loss for them we in Seattle are hearing the Welcome back Kotter theme song playing in our head.

A Facebook friend of mine who happens to be a member of the legislature in my state has created an online event and invited his FB friends: the Al Gore Global Warming Bowl, open to anyone who plans to watch the Green Bay game. One attended posted, "Might take me awhile to arrive as my ice breaker ship is still in the garage, and I'm out of fossil fuel to run it."

Kansas City by far put on the best show yesterday, but the Grand Finale this weekend is tonight in Green Bay.  The high for today is supposed to be 2 degrees, and any wind will only take the chill factor lower.

Lambeau Field has been frozen solid for a couple of months now, and I have to think the local Walmart parking lot is more forgiving than Lambeau is right now.  The footballs tonight will be hard as granite and near impossible to grip.  This is how Football is meant to be played, and quite frankly I would support placing the Superbowl game permanently at Lambeau Field just because of the conditions there in February.

It is possible that by game end, air temp could be -18 degrees F.  No game winning 54 yard field goals tonite!

As for a Super Bowl at Lambeau... it will never happen.  Not enough restaurants, hotels and the like.  The event is much larger than the game.

I believe just the opposite.   Football should not be played in conditions that await the teams in Green Bay tonight.

You bust your a$$ since the dog days of August, to have your quest cut short because of bitter cold wind and temperatures?

....once of the most important factors in choosing a QB is....what is his experience playing in the cold.   Ask Peyton Manning if it makes any difference.

Just because a team is lucky enough to win a game in -17 degree temps...doesn't make it a better team.

Quality of play execution should make the difference.....not how hard the wind is blowing in your face while kicking a 30 yard field goal.

The league has gone above and beyond to protect its players from injury.....this makes no sense.

Unfazed by stage, Andrew Luck authors another improbable comeback

INDIANAPOLIS -- Well now he's gone and done it. Andrew Luck may go on to have a long and storied NFL career, with a bevy of postseason victories and stirring comebacks to his credit before he hangs up his helmet for the final time. But he may never top what he wrought in his first career playoff win, an epic rally from a 28-point second-half deficit Saturday evening at a delirious Lucas Oil Stadium.

Good luck, indeed, Andrew. The second-year Indianapolis Colts' quarterback just authored one of the most improbable victories in NFL history, and the 45-44 first-round conquest of the devastated Kansas City Chiefs will be a tough act to follow in so many ways.

There was a time when the Redskins' quarterback controversy was whether they should draft Andrew Luck or RGIII.

Can you imagine how 'Bobby' G feels right about now?

I am not a big fan of RGIII.   I think the entire problem this season was RGIII not accepting coaching advice.  It's too early to tell if he is 'uncoachable', but he's so headstrong and believes in what got him this far that it could be his undoing.

The only thing  cold at Lambeau today was the Packers run defense.  Kaepernick ran for  181  Yards, and Gore 119. Team average was 7.5 yards a cary. Hope Carolina can get the job done next week, but if not Seattle is is licking our chops to take them on again at home.
