Bikini-clad baristas divide Washington town

Ooooo-eeeee.

I assume the latest trend in those ubiquitous little drive up coffee shacks has come to your town, too. I'm talking about how they have attractive young women in two piece swim suits, the "baristas", serving the brew. Personally I think it's all a bit silly but in this town it has led to some serious conflict.

A quaint tourist town in Washington State has become divided over a coffee stand run by scantily clad bikini-wearing baristas.

At the center of the dispute is Meghan Calavan, owner of the Sips Ahoy coffee stand, and a female resident of Anacortes who accused Calavan of making offensive comments about her weight.

The argument between the two women has caught the attention of local authorities, has compelled members of the community to engage in fist fights and has threatened the survival of the popular sailor-themed bikini barista stand.

The feud first began on Facebook when Jesseka Kathleen Cladek posted on the Sips Ahoy page that the business was a “run down whore house.”

Meghan Calavan’s father, Kelly defended his daughter’s honor and came to the coffee stand’s defense.

He wrote that Cladek was “a huge fat b—- that no one would want to see in a bikini.”

The elder Calavan added, “She is just jealous of you beautiful fine lady’s!!.She looks like a fat pugsly Addams!!! [sic].”

Meghan Calavan also joined the argument on the company’s page. She posted that Cladek was “just jealous cause she’s fat and ugly and always will be. She’s gross lol look at her pictures. Her arms are the size of my thigh lollololol”

She added, “She’s training to be a sumo wrestler.”

“Your [sic] worthless save world hunger by shooting yourself :) the rest of the world would like to eat also,” she later wrote.

Cladek and her mother contacted local media outlets and accused Meghan and her father of cyber-bullying. “What if I was unstable and actually did kill myself? Would it not be OK?” Cladek asked a local news station.

Cladek’s mother also started a campaign to boycott Sips Ahoy on Facebook. She hopes to close down the coffee stand.

Not long after the argument caught the public’s attention, the police contacted Meghan Calavan and told her to remove the controversial Facebook comments.

“People said they were going to come out and put urine in a super soaker and soak the girls and they said they were going to park their cars in a big circle around the stand and not let anybody in and then they said they were going to put gasoline in a super-soaker,” Kelly Calavan told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

He added, “People called the stands and called the girls whores and sluts.” He also mentioned that his car was dented and his house was egged.

Meghan Calavan posted two apologies on the “Boycott Sips Ahoy” Facebook page, but told TheDCNF that the comments were removed.

She says she is the one who has been bullied because of her looks.

“When I was a bartender I had a girl throw a Jager bomb at my face because she did not like my boobs because my boobs were big,” Calavan told TheDCNF.

She said she hires “girls of all sizes with a nice personality,” she says.

Anacortes is a city of about 16,000 souls located on an island NW of Seattle on Puget Sound. It's best known as a tourist destination and a where you get the ferries for the San Juan Islands and Vancouver Island (BC). Well, anyway, that was what it was best known for. Lol.

I bet it's not run down at all.
