Phil Robertson Rumored to be Moving Duck Dynasty to a Christian Channel

The war between Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson and A&E might not be over.

According to a report at the Daily Mail, the Robertson patriarch is looking into ways to move the hit program about his family to "a Christian channel more in keeping with his views."

This allegedly involves Robertson setting up his own TV production company to create the series which would then be aired on a religious channel such as Trinity Broadcast Corporation or Christian Television Network.

For those unfamiliar, a report in 2010 claimed TBN to be accessible by almost 41 percent of the nation's 115 million TV homes. Believe it or not, that's more than ABC, CBS, and NBC.

By contrast, the smaller CTN has far less reach.

But it may not be so simple as contracts the entire family signed could prevent it:

A&E messed with the wrong redneck,’ a source close to the show told the National Enquirer. ‘Phil has agreed to return, but he’s already working on getting out their contracts.’

Back in August the Robertson clan signed a new contract with A&E for $200,000 per episode. That contract is supposed to keep the family tied to the network for several more seasons, but Robertson is confident that he can get them out of it on a technicality after the forthcoming fifth season ends.

‘He’s confident lawyers can find a loophole and get them out of any long-term commitments,’ said the source.

‘Phil wants to use his company name Duck Commander as the title for an entirely new show that they can produce themselves and be in control of what goes on.’

If this report is accurate, one has to think A&E is not going to go down without a huge legal battle.

Stay tuned.

That is totally untrue. The major networks are accessible in over 95% of the country.

On top of that, TBN sold off much of its network in 2011.

Third of all, Robertson already has a show by the name of Duck Commander, and it's still in production on Outdoor Channel, a channel owned by Stan Kroenke, a wealthy conservative Christian.

The report is sloppy and bogus.

Exactly what liberty loving Americans should be doing – disassociating ourselves from the control freaks on the left. Say no to Hollywood, no to New York Times, no to Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters and rest. Support businesses that support the Constitution and the civil society.

Let the separation begin!
