Michael Moore: 'ObamaCare Is Awful'

Michael Moore calls ObamaCare "awful" in today's The New York Times, part of a blistering op-ed attacking the president from the far left.

The progressive pines for socialized medicine, and he says so does President Barack Obama despite the health care overhaul which now bears his name.

    Obamacare is awful.

    That is the dirty little secret many liberals have avoided saying out loud for fear of aiding the president’s enemies, at a time when the ideal of universal health care needed all the support it could get.

Moore goes on to hit his usual targets--Republicans, greedy insurance companies and conservative think tanks. He also mocks the term "affordable" in the reform's official name, citing the costs an average family might incur under the new system.

I believe Obamacare’s rocky start — clueless planning, a lousy website, insurance companies raising rates, and the president’s telling people they could keep their coverage when, in fact, not all could — is a result of one fatal flaw: The Affordable Care Act is a pro-insurance-industry plan implemented by a president who knew in his heart that a single-payer, Medicare-for-all model was the true way to go.

Moore, who once blasted America's health care system while trumpeting the Cuban model in the 2007 documentary Sicko, pins his hopes on a single-payer system to be attempted in Vermont that he claims will be a model for the nation to follow.

We already hear the calls for single-payer as the cure for what ails the ACA.

You know exactly what you'd diagnose him with - and it's not being an idiot.

Low self esteem. Demands people pay attention to him, either for his physical size or his incessant yammering. The big income is nice - don't bother me none - but what does he use it for? It's a way of keeping score to him. A way of proving he's important.
