Got to say - I am strongly not in favor of this.

"But it's safe! Boots on the ground can get you killed!" the pro drone crowd say.

That is exactly the point. There is a huge push to define drone attacks as surgical strikes. They are surgical in the same way a shotgun is a tool for amputation. Works, but is messy and the cleanup takes days. When you have a drone, it's just a machine. Send it in, fire and, if it doesn't come back out, so be it. The tax payer is out a few bucks. Send in a team and you have to worry about them the entire way. Getting in, dealing with the target, getting out - all things that can go wrong and frequently do. It makes people far more cautious about ordering a strike, and I am talking sensible people, not President "I'm good at killing people" Obama.
