Lawyers from California have cast accusatory eyes on Mississippi, declaring that the state’s Confederate symbol on its flag that’s flown at a Santa Ana display is racist and needs to go.

The Orange County Bar Association has passed a resolution to remove the Mississippi flag from the Santa Ana civic center where it now hangs, along with the flags of all other states, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Members of the group say the Confederate symbol is an outdated relic that represents racism and hatred, The Associated Press reported.

The Mississippi flag displays an image of the star-studded crossed bars of the Confederate battle flag. It’s the last state in the nation to display the image on its flag, AP said. Georgia, facing concerted pressure from civil rights groups, removed its Confederate image nearly a decade ago.

The bar association’s battle may not be necessary, however. Local government officials say they’ve been discussing for years a renovation for the area where the flags are displayed, AP reported. And most of the debate renovation plans call for the tearing down of the 50-state flag display anyway.

More cr@p from the tolerant left.
