MSNBC: loving Jesus is ‘interestingly homoerotic’ ...or something

As MSNBC wallows in the sediment at the bottom of the ratings barrel, management seems to have made a conscious decision. They can’t sell their normal left-wing programming to a nation that’s deeply uninterested in their viewpoint, so they’re going to “go weird.”
As a result, the alleged “news network” has devolved into a state of self-parody where hosts say the kinds of things that, in previous years, the folks over at SNL would have written as jokes.
Remember, this is the network that claims God loves the Affordable Care Act, advocates that someone defecate in Sarah Palin’s mouth, and issues proclamations that the word “ObamaCare” a racist slur. There’s really nothing so wacky that they won’t say it on the air. They’re like the Howard Stern of news. Shock value is all they’ve got left, so they’ve decided to run with it.
Case in point is Monday’s Ed Schultz show. Guest host Joy Reid was interviewing left-wing lunatic Michael Eric Dyson and the pair was discussing the blowback over A&E’s decision to fire Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty. They claim that the right is trying to turn Robertson into the next Rosa Parks and, gosh darn it, they are outraged.
So the only proper response is to suggest that a lot of Christian men look like they might have some kind of weird, homoerotic, attraction to Jesus.
Well, obviously! That makes perfect sense. It’s the only logical point a person could make!
Note that Dyson claims he’s not the one making this assertion, he’s only suggesting that some people could see it this way. That’s a bit like a thirteen-year-old claiming that they’re not his cigarettes, he’s just holding them for a friend. Given that Dyson once proudly labelled Eric Holder as “the Moses of our time,” nothing he says about religion should surprise anyone.
Of course this is exactly what the MSNBC brain trust thinks of Christianity. They don’t get it, they’ll never get it, so they reduce it to crude, base, terms that their audience can understand. They love it when a guy like Dyson (who it should be noted is a former Baptist minister) says something this looney.
At this point, there’s nothing these crackpots can do that’s worthy of genuine outrage. It’s best to look at their ramblings as a sign of left-wing desperation. They’ve been pushing the same, tired, agenda for close to a hundred years. They finally got an entire “news” channel devoted to their fever dream, and they’re being tuned out. Beyond the comedy value, no one cares. They’re frustrated, so they get crazier and crazier (and louder and louder) as they try to troll their way back into relevance.
When a guy like Michael Eric Dyson is given a slot on a supposedly prominent show, it’s a death rattle not a battle cry.
