VA hospital prevents teens from singing ‘Silent Night’ to veterans

What-the-Dickens-Scrooge-211109.pjpeg_In yet another example of political correctness gone mad, a local news outlet in Geargia, WRCB, says today that the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center “prevented a group of high school students from singing some songs to veterans” last week.
The report states that high school students from Augusta’s Alleluia Community School “were prevented from singing traditional holiday songs such as ‘Silent Night’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful.’”
A spokesman for the hospital, Brian Rothwell, said in a statement,
“military service members represent people of all faiths. He said that VA rules on ‘spiritual care’ are in place out of respect for every faith.”
Bah Humbug!
The incomparable Todd Starnes of Fox News reported that when the students arrived, they were
“given a list of 12 Christmas songs provided by the hospital’s pastoral service that had been ‘deemed appropriate for celebration within the hearing range of all veterans.’”
At least the VA did not attempt to rewrite “Silent Night,” as was done at the Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School on Long Island, as reported at Liberty Unyielding.
Ebenezer Scrooge would be proud.
