"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

While the nation's citizens struggle with mandates for them to sign up on websites that don't work, the Obamas are off to their traditional long winter holidays vacation.

To me this reveals how he has conducted his entire presidency to date: aloof, half-heartedly, dismissive of opposition.

The political tone-deafness of being on vacation, while families' insurance is cancelled, premiums and deductibles soar, his poll numbers continue to slide.

If Republicans are wise, they will calm their internal differences, lest they aid the media in diverting attention from the democrat health care trainwreck.

And yet...he is a black liberal with media cover.  That means he doesn't have to change and he will not be held to account for any failures.  Image is more important than substance or consequences in today's America.  Until the consequences cause open revolt and disobedience, we will simply limp along with individuals paying the price as they always do in socialist systems.  And if Republicans win next year, the Democrats...Obama...will simply refuse to budge.

You can't get 15 people on a GOP forum to calm their internal differences for nothing, how do you expect 237 Congressmen pulling down 175,000 + lobby cash to get anything done?
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.
