"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

Obama hasn't lost the media.  The headline helps sell ads and perhaps the media are unhappy with him, but there's no way he has lost them.  Think of it this way:  if last year's election were held today, how many members of the media would vote for Romney for president?  What about any other prominent Republican?  Just as I'm sure there were plenty of Republicans who supported Nixon no matter what he did, the media will never abandon the Dems unless the GOP continues to capitulate & becomes indistinguishable from the Dems, and even then they wouldn't leave their home on the left.  They'd have no reason to.

If Politico were honest they'd say "Obama's policies are so bad that the MSM had no choice to report on them even though it makes the president look bad".  That's not losing the media, it's the media having to (somewhat) do their job because they really have no choice if they are to maintain the illusion of credibility.
