A&E Didn't Want to Disrespect Gay Employees By Keeping Phil on 'Duck Dynasty'
'Duck Dynasty'
Didn't Want to Diss Gay Employees
By Keeping Phil on Show

12/21/2013 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Phil Robertson disrespected gay employees at A&E ... and THAT'S why he was sacked from "Duck Dynasty" ... sources connected with the network tell TMZ.

We're told A&E CEO Nancy Dubuc felt she could not  in good conscience ask gay employees to kill themselves for a show when he disrespected them by calling them sinners.

Our sources say ... gay employees involved in the production -- and there are a number of them -- were outraged by Phil's comments to GQ and wanted Dubuc to give him the ax.

We're told Dubuc felt this way ... If Phil had made similar comments about African Americans or Jews ... there would have been a public outcry for his head.  She felt it was just plain wrong not to have the same sense of indignation when the comments were directed at gays.

Our sources say GLAAD was heavily involved in lobbying the network to 86 Phil, and they had an impact.

As for TMZ's criticism that A&E knew full well what it was getting with Phil when they hired him ... as one source put it, "He just took it too far with GQ ... especially with the coarse language."

Our sources say A&E is adamant -- this has nothing to do with being "anti-religion."  Fact is ... the network runs lots of religious programming, notably, Mark Burnett's "The Bible."

The CEO is paying the price.  We're told she's been receiving death threats.

Hate to break this to ya, Nancy, but you're a sinner too.  So am I and so is Phil.

Try again.

Not on. Sorry. It's a damned TV show, not life or death.

OK, losing the show might be death for A&E.

This is the kind of false equivalency that passes for “logic” these days.

Dubuc is a hypocrite.  She bows to the wishes of her gay employees, yet has no intention of not profiting from Duck Dynasty going forward.  Robertson will even star in some of the episodes.

Roy Moore's "spiritual warfare" is driving past a junior high without stopping.

As am I.  The Bible is not up for debate, nor should its teachings be expected to "evolve" to fit the moral decay of the times.
The Constitution is not a suggestion.

Chances are, anyone in any sort of high-profile industry receives death threats every now and then. Only an idiot would telegraph their move and allow the authorities to catch them before the act is done. In other words, most death threats are not even remotely serious.

Saying one has received death threats is the typical knee-jerk attempt to curry sympathy.

But she has no problem putting non-gays out of work, along with the gays, who themselves have done nothing wrong?

This entire episode is about nothing other than the fact that a REAL Christian family got a television show on which they made no bones about what they believe and that show became FAR to popular for the left to endure so they torpedoed it!

So what exactly should they be called if they willfully engage in behavior that the Savior himself has called a sin?

There is a whole lot more Christians in this country than homosexual's.......... perhaps some of these networks need to get to know their core audiences.

Ah, but the homsexuals have more money— better jobs and no kids.

At least that is the media logic, anyway. It has been since the 1970s, when Fred Silverman (then head of CBS) decided the rural, Christian rubes were too poor to be of value to advertisers. He orchestrated the rural purge, got rid of all the shows that were popular in that demo and put in new shows catering to the tastes of hip suburbanites.

Then, after federal pressure, he comissioned The Waltons and was proven dead wrong.

Yet time and again family oriented programming and movies are the money makers... remember the Tim Allen show in the 80s?  Huge ratings for ABC and currently on cBS is Blue Bloods with Tom Sellick as the family patriarch and every week they show them as a family at Sunday dinner, the family prays, and their discussions are always right v wrong.
