Glenn Beck Declares Ted Cruz the Second Coming of Ronald Reagan
by Matt Wilstein | 4:20 pm, December 18th, 2013

Glenn Beck can’t stop praising his own personal “Man of the Year” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). On his radio show Wednesday, Beck used an elaborate attack on President Barack Obama’s plans for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia to declare that Cruz “may be our Ronald Reagan.”

Following the news that neither the Obamas nor the Bidens will attend the upcoming Olympics and will instead send a delegation that includes openly gay athletes like Billie Jean King, in what some see as a protest of sorts against Russia’s anti-gay laws, Beck decried the president’s weakness against the powerful Vladimir Putin.

The host instead suggested that Obama attend the opening ceremony and walk “arm-in-arm” with the gay athletes. While the move would likely be welcomed by progressives here at home, the idea was a bit surprising coming from someone like Beck, who tends to criticize the president for politicizing just about anything.

As for how this relates to Cruz and Reagan, well, you’ll just have to watch the clip and try to figure that out for yourself.

a difference between title "declares"

and body "may be"

Two different meanings, which I see more and more in "journalism."
"God must love the common man, he made so many of them.”
