"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

Remember when Kerry was running for President in 2004?  In every debate he held Shinseki up as the be all end all and kept bragging about how we could save money on the backs of our soldiers if only we elected Kerry and he could put Shinseki into a place of authority......  Well he lost, but O ran his idea up his own administration and this is the result.

There are dozens of non profit veterans organizations, Wounded Warriors being the most popular. Donations from private citizens and businesses keep these groups afloat. We should not need them. The government should be caring for our wounded soldiers. Now, they are doing even less. The defense of our nation was a priority of the Founding Fathers, but our government is causing our soldiers to suffer. It has no problem financing Abrams tanks we don't need, but has a problem helping a veteran to relearn how to walk. Congress outraged a lot of people by passing this budget,  more than they thought would happen.
