In 2001, when Lennon killed his victim with an "assault rifle,"  assault rifles were banned.

In every state in the country.

Tell me again how keeping guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens will prevent criminals like Lennon from getting those same guns.
Roy Moore's "spiritual warfare" is driving past a junior high without stopping.

That ban was for the manufacturing, not for possession.  If you had them before the ban, you could keep them.  Or even sell them to someone else.  So your argument is toothless.
