The White House on Friday said President Obama had "in a very honest way addressed" questions over his statement that individuals could keep their health care plans under ObamaCare, named by fact-checker PolitiFact as "Lie of the Year."

"The president, in an interview earlier this fall, took this question head-on and expressed his concern for those individuals, those Americans, who received cancellation notices and were potentially adversely impacted by or affected by that," White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

But the White House spokesman went on to jab the fact-checking organization, who in 2012 had declared the president's statement "half true."

"You know, end-of-the-year categorizations like that are always fun, even when they don't jive with past characterizations of the very same statement, but we're focused on implementation of the Affordable Care Act," Carney said.

Millions of individuals who privately purchase their health insurance have received cancellation notices about their policies, told that instead they must purchase plans that satisfy a set of minimum ObamaCare standards.

Earlier this year, the White House announced a workaround that allows — but does not mandate — insurers to offer previous plans. But it still appears that many Americans will be forced to change coverage.

Carney said that the White House was not concerned that the broken promise had come under renewed scrutiny, saying instead the focus was on addressing problems with the rollout of the law.

"I don't think that history's assessment of this period will depend on, you know, end-of-the-year lists," Carney said.

"I think it will depend on, in our view, how we responded to the absolute necessity of making the fixes to HealthCare.gov, the absolute necessity of addressing the problem for those who received cancellations and the absolute necessity of ensuring that we are making it possible for the millions of Americans who have so clearly demonstrated their desire for and interest in enrolling in health insurance plans through the marketplace that that they're able to do that. And that will be the test in the long run."

Carney, like the, you know, rest of the lying liars in this, you know, lying administration, wouldn't, you know, know the truth, you know, if it hit them in the head.
