Poll: Views of ObamaCare improve

By Rebecca Shabad

Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll.

Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening.

Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found.

Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving.

These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov.

Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent, up five percentage points from the all-time low a similar poll measured last month.

Since November, his approval rating on healthcare has also gotten better, and now stands at 41 percent. More than half, however, disapprove of his job on the issue.

While Obama’s approval rating is ticking up slightly, Congress’s remains at its lowest levels. The latest poll indicates only 10 percent approve of lawmakers’ jobs.

Time for the media to double down and prop up Obama again.

Polls show most disapprove of Obamacare

Americans disapprove of the Affordable Care Act in the wake of the disastrous roll out of HealthCare.Gov, and the president’s approval ratings remain under water, two new polls show Tuesday.

A Pew survey released Tuesday shows that 54 percent of Americans disapprove of President Barack Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement, while only 41 percent are in favor of it. That same poll shows Obama’s approval rating now at 45 percent, up from 41 percent in November, ending a six month slide in Obama’s ratings. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed by Pew still disapproved of the job Obama is doing.

Another poll released Tuesday by Quinnipiac, however, paints a less favorable picture of Obama, showing the president’s job approval dropping to a new low of 38 percent in December from 39 percent in November. Fifty-seven percent of those surveyed by Quinnipiac disapproved.

According to the Quinnipiac poll, 62 percent disapprove of the way the president has handled health care in the country.

The Pew poll also shows that voters are evenly split as to whether the President “deliberately misled the public” about being able to keep existing health insurance plans under the ACA.

The Pew survey of 2,001 adults was conducted Dec. 3 to Dec. 8 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 2.6 percentage points.

The Quinnipiac survey of 2,692 voters was conducted from Dec. 3 to Dec. 9 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 1.9 percentage points.
