USA, the next Detroit

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

But there is no way to argue that what the government has done to Detroit is anything but a horrendous crime

A sad but accurate summary of what destroyed one of America's premiere cities made even sadder by the fact that Liberals are incapable of seeing what their ideology, their religion, actually produces; and it seems increasingly clear what they have done in Detroit and in other cities is the future of our country.

To liberals, government is their true religion and anything the government does in spending THE MONEY OF SOMEONE ELSE is defended without question by them.  Whitaker Chambers wrote about the left and it's religious approach to government back in the McCarthy era.
