Is he naturally stupid, or does he practice?

Look - One thing that is so obvious that it doesn't or shouldn't need stating. The USA is a bleeping big place. Consumers of goods and food are hundreds (if not thousands) of miles from the production / port facilities. You have systematically degraded or destroyed the extensive rail network, which could be a cost effective form of transportation to local hubs.

So who is going to pay for this stupid idea? The independent truckers, pricing themselves out of the market? The big box stores, who will pass the cost on to the consumer, squeeze suppliers harder and accelerate their driving smaller business' into bankruptcy? Or is it going to rest solely on the shoulders of the average joe that needs to get to work?
The universe doesn't hate you. Unless your name is Tsutomu Yamaguchi

My counter proposal is taxing Congressmen by the word.
