Miley Cyrus in the lead for 'Person of the Year'

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Texas), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), President Obama, and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) can’t stop Miley Cyrus — the provocative singer is currently leading a Time magazine poll for the magazine’s “2013 Person of the Year.”

With three days left to vote, the publication revealed Monday that the “Wrecking Ball” songstress is ahead of a variety of political heavy hitters in the annual reader’s choice poll.

While so far Cyrus has captured more than 20 percent of the online votes, she’s followed in second and third place by Egyptian Defense Minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who each have about 18 percent.

Cyrus pushed her 15 million followers to help her top the poll.

But even if the 21-year-old chart topper manages to best the list of more than 40 lawmakers, entertainers, and other headline-making personalities, she may not grace the cover of the mag. Time editors ultimately choose the 2013 Person of the Year.
