Just days following the announcement of his new book, “Pandora’s Box: How American Military Aid Creates America’s Enemies,” Ronan Farrow is back with big news.  The 25-year old human-rights activist, journalist, lawyer and government official can add TV host to his professional repertoire. According to USA Today, Farrow will join MSNBC as the host to a weekday afternoon show tackling youthful activism.

“This is a new generation of news show for a new, more engaged generation of viewers,” Farrow, 25, said in a statement. “It’s a show about why the news matters to you — and what you can do to be a part of the story.”

Farrow is the son of actress Mia Farrow and filmmaker Woody Allen. Not to be outdone by his famous parents, the Yale-Law school grad boasts an impressive resume, including a stint as a foreign policy official in the first Obama administration.

“Ronan has established himself as a provocative, independent journalist capable of challenging people’s assumptions and empowering audiences,” MSNBC chief Phil Griffi said of the new hire. “His show will be a game changer for MSNBC, representing a fresh approach to how we deliver news.”

Mia Farrow: ‘Possible’ Son Is Sinatra’s

Farrow echoed Griffi’s sentiments adding: “I’m excited to shake up people’s expectations for cable news. And to get a ton of Twitter followers.”

The show is set to air in early 2014.

Farrow was in the news recently when his mother told Vanity Fair that she believed Ronan’s father was Frank Sinatra, not Woody Allen, as she had previously claimed. Allen has called the claim absurd.

Mia Farrow's 25-year-old wunderkind son, Ronan, made headlines recently when it was suggested that Frank Sinatra may have been his biological father - and now questions are being raised about his ambiguous sexual orientation.

The Yale-educated former Obama administration aide, who is set to launch his own talk show geared toward millennials on MSNBC in January, has been linked to heiress Jemima Khan and fashion designer Tory Burch.

But the dashing young intellectual is also reportedly close to Jon Lovett, President Barack Obama's former speech writer, who is openly gay.

According to New York Post columnist Richard Johnson, Mr Farrow has come under pressure from the LGBT community to come out of the closet as gay.

However, a friend of the 25-year-old man told the Page Six writer that Ronan Farrow does not like putting labels on his sexual orientation.

'He's been with guys, but he's also bee with girl,' the unnamed source said. 'He's open about both.'

Another acquaintance of Farrow’s told the Post that he does not define himself as gay, straight or even bisexual.

A female friend of Ronan's, who spoke to Johnson on condition of anonymity, said that the two of them have been in a romantic and sexual relationship for some time now.

In an opinion piece written by Christopher Glazek for Vice Magazine a week ago, the author claimed that Ronan Farrow had sex with several of his male friends.

The Vice article was penned in response to recent profiles of Ronan Farrow that appeared in Vanity Fair and New York Times.

Glazek lamented that while both publications had no qualms about revealing intimate details of Ronan’s life, including questions about his paternity, neither the Times piece nor the Vanity Fair article mentioned his sexual orientation.

It was announced last month that Farrow, the former White House foreign policy adviser and Rhodes Scholar, will join the MSNBC lineup in mid-January.

Ronan (what a name) should fit in over at MSNBC quite nicely, in more ways than one.
