Poll: Republicans take lead on Congressional generic ballot

An 11-point swing in favor of Republicans from last month’s Fox News poll:

What a difference a couple weeks makes. Republicans have a slim three-point advantage when Americans are asked about their vote preference for Congress in the latest Fox News poll. That’s an 11 percentage-point shift from last month when Democrats had an 8-point edge.

The poll finds “if the Congressional election were held today,” 43 percent of voters would back the Republican in their district and 40 percent the Democratic candidate.

That’s a reversal from last month when 45 percent backed the Democratic candidate and 37 percent the Republican (October 20-22, 2013).

Wow:

Adding to the dismal news from the Q poll on the honesty question, here are President Obama’s numbers from the Fox poll:

Half of voters believe President Obama “knowingly lied” when he repeatedly told Americans they could keep their plans under his signature health care law…

Seventy-nine percent of Republicans, 51 percent of independents and 22 percent of Democrats believe Obama knowingly lied to get the law passed.

Furthermore, a 59-percent majority believes the administration knew ahead of time that people would be kicked off their insurance because of the law, and 55 percent think the White House has “tried to deceive” people about it. Some 38 percent say the administration has “been honest.”

The lack of trust extends to Obama’s recent apology to Americans losing their insurance because of Obamacare. While 38 percent of voters believe the apology was sincere, many more — 58 percent — feel it was “mostly for political reasons.”

On that point, another wow:

The Q poll had Republicans and Democrats tied on the generic ballot.

Remember when Democrats were going to run on Obamacare in 2014? Remember when the government shut down was going to bequeath unto Democrats permanent majorities from now until the end of time?
