A Germany university and the Music Museum of Iran have joined forces to digitise 4000 old gramophone records of Iranian songs.

The collaboration came about after an Iranian doctoral candidate in ethnomusicology- who saw how the university had helped preserve some old music collections in Egypt- suggested Iran do the same.

Roja Assadi reports.

Video report at link.

It is odd. You don't really think of Iran and music in the same sentence. A little stupid, since they are (in the main) people who like to party. Glad to see this project under way and being successful.
The universe doesn't hate you. Unless your name is Tsutomu Yamaguchi
