Ed Schultz: Christian Values Mean Nothing to Republicans – ‘They Hide Behind Their Plastic Jesus’

By Noel Sheppard | November 5, 2013

There really is nothing MSNBC’s Ed Schultz won’t say about conservatives.

In response to a viewer question “What do Christian values mean to Republicans,” Schultz said Tuesday, “It's just a stepping stone, a footstool, to get exactly what they want in the political arena. They hide behind their plastic Jesus” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Quote
ED SCHULTZ: Tonight in our "Ask Ed Live" segment, first question coming from Aria. “What do Christian values mean to Republicans?” Well, Christian values - not that there aren't Christian values - but when you put it to politicians and political operatives, it now becomes a crutch to justify anything they want in the political arena connected to scripture, and oftentimes they turn out to be totally hypocritical. So what do Christian values mean to Republicans? It's just a stepping stone, a footstool, to get exactly what they want in the political arena. They hide behind their plastic Jesus, quite often. Just look at some of the things that have been said on the House floor.

Imagine that.

So in Schultz’s warped view, Christian Republicans are all lying about their faith to advance their agenda.

Now keep in mind, this isn’t Bill Maher on HBO. This is a man with his own daily show on a so-called cable “news network.”

Honestly, how can that be?

Don’t the folks at Comcast and NBC News have any concern for what their hosts on MSNBC say?

Or is everything that supports Democrats and defames Republicans totally acceptable on this national disgrace?
“The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves.” G Washington July 2, 1776

Who knows how this nitwit would define Christian values, anyway?
Just being unique doesn't make you useful.

And all 37 of his viewers agreed.
Liberalism isn't really about making the world a better place. It's about reassuring the elites that they are good people for wanting to rule over it.

I think he was talking about Republican politicians rather than Republican voters...
