Earlier on Fox they said part of the problem is McDonald and his wife turned out to be a bit of a crook and that hurt Cuchinelli who was unable to tap into what most Governors running are able to do - his team to organize things.. something about a "silver line" to Dulles Airport that a lot of deep pocket GOP donors want to take place and Cuch has said is not needed and VA doesn't need to spend the voters money for...

As a former Virginian, I'm frickin' appalled that the best the Democrats had to offer was Terry Rodham McAuliffe.  They can't even muster up a black Democrat to run for Governor in the second term of The One, then they are doomed in 2014 and beyond.  Rush has always talked about taking the Democrats out of power for a generation, and I think it may well take Obama to do exactly that.

He has some insulation from that because he is the Lt. Governor, the real issue here is going to be Obamacare.  Cuchinelli was the very first AG to file suit over ACA and that has bought him a bunch of points among voters who sure as hell aren't going to vote for Terry Rodham who is out talking about what a great deal Medicare will be for everyone.....

Third parties will always be demonized by one side or the other depending on whose base is most threatened.  The solution is not forming a third party, but restoring the Constitution to the way the founders intended it to be.  To do that will require working within the two party system to take control of it in order to have a voting majority in both houses of Congress that will pass the legislation required.  It will also require taking charge in the States as well.  Long term project that is desperate for competent long term leadership, but a third party will always be doomed to failure under the current system. 

Repeal the 17th and deal the State Legislatures back into the game and the system will correct itself.

VA GOV RACE: Prince William County (Pop 421k) w/ 14% in: McAuliffe (D) 48.2%, Cuccinelli (R) 47.3%, Sarvis (L) 4.5%

This is an important county for McAuliffe. He is expected to win it in a landslide.

then those are pretty bad numbers - just hope there's not some backroom in northern VA where a bunch of DNC hacks are counting the votes they need to put McAwffle over the top.
