During an appearance on 97.1 AMP Radio, West dismissed the controversy over the flag, saying it’s much ado about nothing. He says he’s basically taking the flag and making it his own.

If he wants to adopt what the confederacy as a whole stood for:  state's rights and freedom from the federal government, he's more than welcome to adopt the flag as well.
