During an appearance on 97.1 AMP Radio, West dismissed the controversy over the flag, saying it’s much ado about nothing. He says he’s basically taking the flag and making it his own.

React how you want. Like I said, any energy you got is good energy. You know, the Confederate flag represented slavery, in a way––that’s my abstract take on what I know about it, right? So I made the song ‘New Slaves.’ So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag now! Now what are you gonna do?

All I can say is sit down, get your popcorn ready because the fireworks are about to begin.

If he wants to adopt what the confederacy as a whole stood for:  state's rights and freedom from the federal government, he's more than welcome to adopt the flag as well.
I won't vote for Clinton, but I cannot vote for Trump.  How could I explain to my daughter why I supported a man who sees her as nothing more than a piece of meat, a piece of a$$ for him to grope for his own private pleasure.

It's all he does because it's all he knows.
