Frightening Details Of Obama’s Climate Council

Barack Obama imposed yet another executive order onto already beleaguered Americans, this time focused on combatting the much-disputed threat of man-caused climate change.
Though laws dealing with the issue are often criticized by those who do not ascribe to leftist environmental policies, this order is especially dangerous because Obama completely circumvented congressional oversight in its implementation.
The fiat decision, entitled “Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change,” will have far-reaching effects on the lives of Americans, despite mounting evidence that human activity has no measurable effect on the environment.
Obama called for the creation of a “Council on Climate Change Preparedness and Resilience,” which will be headed by officials from multiple federal agencies, including the Council on Environmental Quality and the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
According to language included in the order, the effects of climate change can include “an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification, and sea-level rise….”
Combating these perceived problems, according to Obama’s executive order, “requires deliberate preparation, close cooperation, and coordinated planning by the Federal Government, as well as by stakeholders, to facilitate Federal, State, local, tribal, private-sector, and nonprofit-sector efforts to improve climate preparedness and resilience.”
These policymakers will ostensibly answer to Obama; and initial reports indicate their mandates will hit taxpayers where it hurts. Further proving leftists cannot pass up a tax hike, the council is expected to use increased government revenue to fight a problem millions of Americans – not to mention more and more scientists – believe is a myth.
Furthermore, members of the council will also be allowed to compel any other agency to release internal information regarding climate change.
Obama claims this latest intrusive order will effectively protect us from ourselves. Unfortunately, he has yet to offer any plan that would protect us from him.
